Food extruder machine screw and barrel are widely used for producing puffing snack, leisure food etc. There are two main kinds of types: single and twin screws. For twin screws, co-rotating (screws moving in same direction) and counter-rotating (screws moving in opposing directions) are designed for different products.
Co-rotating twin-screw extruders, often used for producing snack products, provide a high degree of heat transfer but not forced conveyance.
Counter-rotating twin-screw extruders are used for producing products requiring low speeds and long residence times, such as gum, jelly and licorice confections.
